Overview
Insights NextGen is Syncari's no-code, drag-and-drop Business Intelligence (BI) experience, built directly into the Syncari platform. It lets you explore, interact with, and visualize your unified, multi-system data without exporting to a separate BI tool, standing up a data warehouse, or writing SQL.
Because Insights NextGen reads directly from your already-unified Syncari data, you can build dashboards that combine records from Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, and any other connected system into a single view then explore that data using tables and charts you configure yourself.
Use Insights NextGen to:
- Build dashboards made up of one or more cards
- Report on any entity in your unified data model, including standard and custom entities
- Summarize data with metrics (Count, Sum, Average, and more) and break it down by any field
- Switch between table and chart views of the same data
Creating a Dashboard
To create a dashboard:
1. From the left navigation, click Insights NextGen.
If you haven't created a dashboard yet, you'll see the Welcome to Insights screen.
2. Click + Create Dashboard.
3. In the Create New Dashboard panel, enter:
- Display Name - A descriptive name for the dashboard (for example, Annual Revenue Board). This is required.
- Description - Optional context on why the dashboard exists and how it's used.
4. Click Create Now. Syncari opens your new, empty dashboard.
Creating a Card
Dashboards are made up of cards, and each card visualizes data from one or more entities. A new dashboard starts empty, with a prompt to add your first card.
To create a card:
1. On the dashboard, click + Add Card. Syncari opens the Create New Card builder.
2. To add a Source, click + a source, then search for and select an entity to report on.
3. Optionally Click + a source again to add an additional entity to the same card. When you add a second source, configure how it joins to the first:
- Join Type - Choose Inner, Left, Right, or Full.
- Left Field - The field on the existing source to join on.
- [Source Name] Field - The matching field on the source you're adding.
4. Click Add Source to confirm.
5. Under Metrics, click + a metric, then:
- Choose a function: Count, Sum, Average, Median, Min, Max, Std Dev, Mode, Unique Values, or Formula.
- Select the field to measure.
- Give the metric a display name so it's easy to identify in your table or chart.
6. (Optional) Click + a metric again to add additional metrics to the same card.
7. Under Breakdowns, click + a breakdown, then search for and select the field to group your data by.
You can also choose a granularity - Hour, Day, Week, Month, Quarter, or Year.
8. (Optional) Use Refinements to further shape your data:
- Filter - Click + Filter, then select a field, an operator, and enter a value to limit which records are included. Click Add Filter to confirm.
- Sort - Click + Sort, then select a column and choose Ascending or Descending order. Click Add Sort to confirm.
- Formula - Click + Formula, enter a name for the new column, and build your expression. Type {{ to insert a field, or start typing a function name to see suggestions, click Show functions for the full list of supported functions and arithmetic operators. Click Add Formula Column to confirm.
- Limit - Click + Limit, enter the number of rows to return, and click Apply Limit.
9. (Optional) Under Optional Details:
- + Description - Describe what the card shows, then click Save.
- + Tags - Add one or more tags to make the card easier to find later, then click Save.
10. Name your card by replacing Untitled Card at the top of the preview pane. This name is used for both the table and chart views of the card.
11. As you build, the preview pane on the right updates automatically. Use the Table and Chart toggle at the top of the preview to switch between a tabular view and a visual chart of the same data.
12. If you switch to Chart, a Visualization panel opens below the preview where you can:
- Choose a chart type—such as KPI, Bar, Line, Pie, or Column. Each type lists what it needs (for example, a Line chart needs one time breakdown and one measure), and Syncari only enables types your current metrics and breakdowns support.
- Set the X Axis and Y Axis fields, or click Advanced for further chart configuration.
13. When you're satisfied with the card, click Add to Dashboard. The dashboard looks like this after adding cards.
Managing a Dashboard
Once your dashboard has cards, use the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the dashboard name to manage it. The menu includes the following options:

- View Details - View information about the dashboard.
- Make a copy - Create a duplicate of the dashboard, which is useful when you want to build a variation without changing the original.

- Present - Display the dashboard in a presentation view, for example during a meeting or review.
- Share With - Give other users access to the dashboard.
