The Marketo Synapse enables data synchronization between Marketo standard objects and Syncari entities using the Marketo API. After the Synapse is Authenticated, a user can Activate the Marketo Synapse, which enables Syncari to replicate the schema of Marketo and make it available within the Unified Data Model. Using the Sync Studio, a user can map Marketo objects to Syncari entities, and Marketo fields to Syncari fields. To accelerate the setup and configuration of these pipelines, Syncari provides a default mapping for the standard objects and fields in Marketo.
If your Marketo security requires you to whitelist an IP you can find that here.

Marketo Setup
Follow these steps in Marketo to prepare the integration between Marketo and Syncari:
- Create API Only Role (Steps)
- Create API Only User (Steps)
- Assign the API Only Role to the User
- Create a New Service in Marketo LaunchPoint (Steps)
- Display Name: Syncari
- Service: Custom Service
- Description: Integration with Syncari
- API Only User: [Step 2 above]
- Next, you'll need to copy some details from the LaunchPoint Service you created.
Click "View Details" on the LaunchPoint Service.
Copy the Client ID and Client Secret. You will need to enter these values into the Synapse configuration. -
Get the Marketo Munchkin ID:
Go to Admin > Integration > Munchkin
Copy the Munchkin Account ID
Nice! You are now ready to configure your Marketo Synapse in Syncari.
Synapse Setup
Step 1: Start by logging in to your Syncari subscription
- Navigate to Synapses
- Find Marketo in the Synapse Library
- Drag the Marketo Synapse to the canvas
Step 2: Configure your Synapse parameters
- Enter a
[Synapse Name]
- Enter the
[Munchkin ID]
- Enter a
[Static List Id]
or All Leads*
This setting allows you to sync a subset of leads that are on a Static List. Enter an asterisk if you want to sync with all leads in Marketo. - Click "Next"
Note: The Static List Id parameter enables you to limit the Lead records that Syncari can access. Typically, this parameter is useful for large databases where you (1) want/need to constrain the Lead records on which you want to execute synchronization and apply data policies and (2) limit the impact on the number of Marketo API calls. Contact Support or ask if you would like any clarification or a recommendation.
Step 3: Define your authentication parameters
- Enter the
[Client Id]
- Enter the
[Client Secret]
- Click "Authenticate" (The Authenticate button will turn green when the synapse is authenticated)
- Click "Next"
Step 5: Activate your Synapse
- Click "Make Synapse Active"
- Click "Close"
Congratulations! You have completed the setup of Marketo.
If you receive any errors message after clicking Authenticate, confirm each of the parameters in the previous steps are configured properly. If the error persists, contact one of our Onboarding and Support team members.
