Oracle Eloqua Synapse Setup

The Oracle Eloqua synapse enables data synchronization between Eloqua and Syncari entities using the Eloqua API. Map Accounts and Contacts from Eloqua to Syncari using Sync Studio. Changes to the records for these objects are periodically synced from Eloqua into Syncari. Syncari provides a flexible conflict resolution strategy in cases where multiple updates are noticed for the same record. The data can be enriched, deduped, and cleansed before storing it in Syncari. Data flowing from different systems into Syncari is synced to Eloqua

Requirements & Reference

Supported Synapse Capabilities

  • Bidirectional sync
  • Syncari's Eloqua synapse supports these Eloqua objects:
    • Accounts
    • Contacts

Eloqua Setup

To authenticate with the Eloqua synapse, you’ll need to know your Company Name. You'll use the Company Name when you enter your User Name during configuration. During configuration, you need to format the User Name entry as company-name\username. For example, if your Company Name is Syncari and your user name is Dave, enter Syncari\Dave in the User Name field.

The Company Name should match what you use to log in to Eloqua.

Configure the Eloqua Synapse in Syncari

To connect the Eloqua synapse in Syncari:

  1. In Syncari, open Synapse Studio.
  2. Find Eloqua in the Synapse Library, and drag it to the canvas.

  3. Complete the information in the Configure step:
    • Synapse Name—Enter your own custom name for the synapse.
Note: Stick to letters and numbers. The name must begin with a letter. The only special characters we allow are spaces, hyphens (-), and underscores (_).
    • Authentication Method—Leave the default User Password.
    • Optional: The Sync Rate Limit affects downstream syncs with the synapse. Turn on the Sync Rate Limit if needed to limit the sync rate for updates. You can edit this configuration later if you find you need to manage your downstream syncs.

  4. Click Next.
  5. Enter your credentials, and then click Authenticate.
Note: You must include your Company Name with your Username. Format it as company-name\username.
For example, if your Company Name is Syncari and your user name is Dave, enter Syncari\Dave in the User Name field.

  6. Click Next.
  7. Select Make Synapse Active
    Other options include:
    • Map Entities in Sync Studio—Syncari takes you to Sync Studio to map the entities before activating the Synapse.
    • Activate and Create Pipelines—We don't recommend using this option except in specific use cases (e.g., this is your first synapse, and you want your schema to match that of the synapse). For synapses with default mappings, Syncari updates the Sync Studio canvas and creates draft pipelines for the Syncari Unified Data Model. Contact one of our Onboarding and Support team members before using this option.
